Vanilla millet pudding with roasted apples and almond flakes is a great idea for a sweet treat on these gray autumn days. We now have plenty of apples, and millet is irreplaceable for preparing a quick and healthy homemade dessert. All you have to do is cook it properly so that it does not have bitterness in it, add milk, sweetener and banana and blend everything together. In my opinion, the mass itself already tastes great, if you enrich it with the addition of apples and almond flakes, I am sure that you will also be delighted with the taste. In this way, we get a homemade pudding made of millet groats, which is so easy to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Put the millet groats in a sieve, rinse thoroughly under running water, and then pour boiling water over it to get rid of the bitterness. Put the groats into a saucepan, add 1.5 cups of milk and cook, covered, over low heat for about 15 minutes, until the liquid is completely absorbed. Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthwise and use a small knife to collect the seeds, add them to the boiling groats along with the remaining pod, which will also give off its aroma. Leave the cooked groats to cool, remove the vanilla pod, add the ripe banana, maple syrup and the remaining glass of milk. Blend everything with a blender until smooth, uniform. You can adjust the consistency of the pudding according to your preference by adding milk gradually. Transfer the pudding prepared in this way to plates. In the meantime, peel the apple, remove the core and cut into slices. On a plate, mix cane sugar with cinnamon and surround the apple slices with this mixture on both sides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Makes 2 servings<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1\/2 dry millet<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1.5 cups of milk for cooking groats (vegetable or cow) + additional 1 cup<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1 small ripe banana<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1 vanilla pod<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1 apple<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1 tablespoon maple\/date syrup or honey<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon cane sugar<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">1 teaspoon cinnamon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">a handful of almond flakes<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">optional fresh mint leaves for decoration<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On a dry, hot pan (in my case, a grill pan), toast the almond flakes for 2 minutes until they are golden brown. Transfer them to a plate and in the next step, roast the apples for 2-3 minutes on each side, until the sugar is slightly caramelized. Immediately transfer the apple slices to the pudding, sprinkle the dessert with almond flakes, pour maple syrup over it and garnish with mint leaves.
